On the 20th of June, a dedicated group of women prison officers from HMP Addiwell will be trading the wings for the waves (well, beach!) to raise awareness – and funds – for White Ribbon Scotland by sleeping on a Scottish beach and braving the unpredictable summer weather.
Officer Czarnecka said, ”
As women working in a male-dominated prison environment, this cause is close to our hearts. We see the impact, we hear the stories, and we are choosing to take a stand — not just in our roles, but as women supporting women.
Together, we can help build a future where every woman feels safe.
White Ribbon Scotland is the country’s largest campaign to engage men and boys in ending violence against women. For these officers, who see the impact of societal cycles of violence every day in their professional lives, this cause is personal.
