Eleven members of staff from a variety of departments across Midlothian Council attended White Ribbon Scotland training at Council Headquarters in Dalkeith. We discussed different forms of violence against women, gender stereotyping, peer pressure, why men should be involved in ending violence against women, the history of the White Ribbon Campaign and Bystander Theory. Throughout the day we had some fantastic discussions led by our Campaign Director Davy with terrific contributions from the whole team. With the UN led Sixteen Days of Activism to Eliminate Violence Against Women coming up our new volunteers will be planning how they can be involved. Thanks to everyone for their contributions and for taking part in filming for a short video.
