This week ended with the delivery of White Ribbon Scotland Speaker training to staff and prisoners at HM Prison Kilmarnock. Enthusiastic involvement in all aspects of the training led to some informed discussions and valuable insights to violence against women prevention. It was generally agreed that progress can be made in the efforts to end violence against women; an essential element of any campaign being that we can see potential for change. The session concluded with a useful discussion about how trained Speakers can work within the establishment to change attitudes and behaviour. We will continue to develop how best to approach the issue of involving men in future discussions at all levels within the prison establishment.
