White Ribbon Scotland Orkney Status Project
KIRKWALL — As a nationwide campaign, White Ribbon Scotland (WRS) continued its regular community engagement across the country by hosting a stall at the recent at the Orkney County Show in Bignold Park, Orkney.
The busy day was made possible thanks to the tireless efforts of local volunteers Math Thomas, Sweyn Hunter, and Raey, and Ryan from the Orkney Youth Café.
The team had over 100 meaningful conversations throughout the day, resulting in even more people proudly wearing a white ribbon. WRS is very grateful for their hard work on the day and their ongoing dedication to addressing gender-based violence across all ages and parts of the Orkney islands, and to the Orkney Agricultural Society for hosting our stall.
Positioned perfectly next to the highly popular dog show—a lively location very much appreciated by the team – the stall allowed volunteers to engage directly with the local community; reaching every corner of Scotland, WRS continues to campaign for a future free from inequality and gender based violence.
