This time next week our White Ribbon Scotland Ambassador’s Cllr Jim Montgomerie’s of North Ayrshire Council attempt to run 16 marathons in 16 days to raise awareness of men’s role in ending Violence Against Women will be underway.
Jim is undertaking this ultra running feat during the annual UN 16 days of action against gender-based violence (25 Nov – 10 Dec). This year’s theme is “Orange the World: Generation Equality Stands against Rape!”) https://www.unwomen.org/en/what-we-do/ending-violence-against-women/take-action/16-days-of-activism
Jim hopes through this endurance event to raise awareness amongst men of the need for more of us to pledge to take action to end gender based violence. [Albeit please only run up Goatfell in November for practise if you’re an ultra runner],
there are many other ideas for taking action here from a lowe warmer altitude https://whiteribbonscotland.org.uk/take-action/
Best wishes to Jim
