Speakers are the backbone of White Ribbon Scotland. They are volunteers who attend a one day training course and then, as part of a Section of our National Speaker Network, participate in events to promote the work of White Ribbon Scotland. Speakers are essential to the dissemination of information about violence against women.
Champions are people who have been nominated by Speakers as being those who are in a position to facilitate their campaigning. Often they are line-managers of our Speakers. They are offered the opportunity to attend a three hour briefing session to raise their awareness of the activities of our Speakers and how they can help make things happen.
Most men do not commit violence against women. But all men have a role in ending it. If we all start by making a pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about men’s violence against women in all its forms, that will make a huge difference.
