A dedicated team of female prison staff members from HMP Addiewell swapped their indoor comfort for a challenging night on a Scottish beach. Organised by Learning and Development Officer Emilia Czarnecka, the group slept out overnight on a Scottish beach in individual, survival-grade sleep pods.
Working daily within a male prison environment, these officers see and hear the impacts of abuse. They chose to take this stand to raise funds and raise awareness of our campaign to engage men and boys to end gender-based violence.
“We are choosing to take a stand—not just in our roles, but as women supporting women,” Emilia shared.
