Commuters passing through Edinburgh’s Haymarket Station recently saw a joint initiative led by the British Transport Police (BTP), alongside White Ribbon Scotland and Victim Support. The organisations shared the concourse to highlight transport security, community safety, and support services.
British Transport Police officers discussed rail safety with travellers and offering advice on how to report concerns while using the network. Their presence focused on reassuring passengers and maintaining security across transit hubs.
White Ribbon Scotland representatives also used the stall to discuss their ongoing work engaging men and boys in tackling violence against women. Staff and volunteers spoke with travellers about shifting attitudes and encouraging people to sign the organisation’s pledge.
Victim Support Scotland
Victim Support team members rounded out the collaboration, providing information on the practical and emotional services available to anyone affected by crime. By combining resources, the three organisations aimed to make safety information and support networks visible and accessible to the public during their journeys.
