Violence Against Women is often seen as a “women’s issue” – The Fife White Ribbon Campaign wants to change that, encouraging both men and women to challenge attitudes and gender stereotypes that allow violence and abuse to thrive.
By working together, we can all play a part in creating a society within Fife that embraces equality and mutual respect and rejects all forms of violence against women.
The Fife Violence Against Women Partnership (FVAWP) is collective of organisations who all wish to work together and play their part in creating this inclusive and safe society.
We are working across Fife to promote and share the White Ribbon message and asking all Fife residents to pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women. Take the pledge now

*** Fife’s First White Ribbon Cup – Postponed to Summer 2027***
We were very excited about plans for Fife’s first White Ribbon Cup – a walking football festival, supported by the Pars Foundation and Street Soccer.
Unfortunately we have taken the tough decision to postpone the event until summer 2027. We’ll post updates on this page as we have them, so watch this space for more information and how to sign a team up to play to win our White Ribbon Cup.

Fife White Ribbon Cup
Plans are underway for Fife’s very first White Ribbon Cup – a walking football festival taking place on Sunday 5th of July from 10am-12.30pm at Pitreavie Sports and Soccer Centre, Dunfermline.
With the support of the Pars Foundation and Street Soccer, FVAWP are delighted to host a fun morning of football while promoting the White Ribbon campaign.
We are currently looking for teams who will take part to compete for our White Ribbon Cup. Are you up for the challenge?

Many Good Men
We are delighted to share that our friends at Dunfermline Athletic FC are providing space in their stadium to host the Many Good Men performance delivered by Civic Digits.
The performance has been co-written with S2 pupils at Dunfermline High School and tackles themes of online influencers, misogyny and incel beliefs. It is an interactive production, which is thought provoking and timely, with a particular focus on how we can all speak up and offer an alternative voice to those of misogynistic online influencers. It really ties in with White Ribbons pledge not to remain silent about violence against women and girls.
There are some tickets still available for the shows on Friday 3rd April 2026
The performance has roots in a report developed by Civic Digits and Zero Tolerance which recorded young Scots’ experiences of online misogynistic extremism and radicalisation.
White Ribbon Training in Fife
We have a one day in-person training session coming up for anyone interested in supporting the work of White Ribbon Fife.
This session enables participants to become part of the White Ribbon Fife team of speakers who start conversations and support awareness raising activities across Fife. Much of our work centres on promoting the White Ribbon pledge, asking people to pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.
The training session will take place on Thursday 30th April from 9.30am-4.30pm. The venue is to be confirmed.

Dunfermline Athletic FC gave their continued support to White Ribbon by welcoming FVAWP to attend the Dunfermline Athletic FC v Arbroath game on 6th FVAWP staff spoke to fans as they arrived at the Norrie McCathie stand and it is estimated that 200 pledge info cards and White Ribbons were given out to fans before the game and over half time. The DAFC players wore White Ribbon t-shirts while warming up before the game, which had an attendance of 4900. DAFC also posted about the campaign on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/dafc)
As part of White Ribbon Scotland’s Train Station Day on 4th December, we were out chatting to commuters at Inverkeithing Train Station. We braved the cold from 7.30am-9.30am and then were out again at 5.00pm-6.30pm to catch the busy commuter trains. We estimate that we gave out 800 pledge info cards and White Ribbons to commuters and railway staff and we had some good conversations about the important work being done to end violence against women and girls. Thanks to everyone who stopped to listen and chat to us.
Local News
- We have been delighted to build better links with Dunfermline Athletic Football Club and receive their support in highlighting the White Ribbon messages and pledge. On 14th August, we attended the community event where they launched their third kit, which uses the artwork from the Skids album Scared to Dance. We are incredibly grateful to Richard Jobson, from the Skids, who donated the royalties from sales of the top to White Ribbon Scotland to support with local awareness raising work in the Fife area. - In May 2025 we held a White Ribbon training session, which was attended by 11 people working and/or living in Fife. With their support, we will be getting out and about across Fife spreading the White Ribbon message.
- In November 2024, we held an information stall for Fife Council elected members within Fife House, Glenrothes and received their support for the campaign.

In Fife, during 2024/2025:
- 5044 domestic abuse incidents were reported to the police
- Fife Women’s Aid supported 1277 women and 369 children
- 1119 sexual crimes were recorded by the police
- Fife Rape and Sexual Assault Centre supported 785 survivors of abuse
Within Fife we provide services and support to victims and survivors of all forms of gender based abuse. We know our services are of a very high standard – person centred, trauma informed and holistic.
However, we wish we didn’t have to provide these services. We aim for a day where violence against women does not exist.
In order to work towards this goal, we want to have conversations – about healthy, safe relationships, about consent and equality, and mostly about how we challenge the attitudes and opinions that enable violence against women to continue.
