Connor Whyte and Nick Hernandez, members of the Skids, were at East End park recently to present members of the White Ribbon Fife team with a donation of £2350. The donation was made at local derby game Dunfermline Athletic Vs Raith Rovers on 28th August.
The Skids ‘Scared to Dance’ artwork was used on the 2025/26 DAFC third kit, and members of the band generously opted to donate their fee to support work being done locally to end violence against women.
Davy Thompson, Campaign Director at White Ribbon Scotland accepted the cheque on behalf of White Ribbon Fife alongside Laura Pearson, Co-ordinator of Fife Violence Against Women Partnership.
White Ribbon Fife have been working with DAFC on a number of initiatives over the last few years, including a showing of partnership theatre production Many Good Men at the stadium in March 2026. Laura Pearson, said “It’s great to work with Dunfermline Athletic FC to raise awareness of our White Ribbon messaging. The campaign relies on people knowing about us and feeling confident to join us in speaking up. The fans we have spoken to have been excellent – really supportive of our cause.”
White Ribbon Fife aim to use the donation to offer training to local people which will boost conversations about violence against women, understanding the key issues and most importantly, how everyone can all play a part in tackling it. Their goal is to see more people standing up and saying, out loud, “I do not tolerate violence against women.” Anyone interested in finding out more about this training can email fvawp@fife.gov.uk
