Our Training and Events

Hundreds of activists and speakers have been trained through us and are still working with us to end violence against women. As a small charity, we aim to deliver as much as possible, however to make sure we do that well, we have have created a programme of activity for your school, college, workplace or community to choose from.

You can become an affiliate member and get discounts on training events and materials, as well as further support in your work or campaigning.

Our Speaker Training

We provide a one day training programme, at your chosen venue or organisation, to individuals who want to become local speakers on behalf of White Ribbon Scotland. The training includes introductory sessions on understanding the gender analysis of violence against women, key facts and figures, bystander theory and public speaking support. Each speaker is also provided with a CD of information to take home, continued support and a personal log in for our online speaker forum. Speakers are then added to our network and sign up to be ambassadors in their local community or workplace. Our training has set up speaker networks in Stirling, Dundee and Edinburgh and our trainees have included people from the Prison Service, Police and student activists.

Who is this training for? Any group of men and women in a local community or workplace, ideally there should be at least 10 in a session (given the nature of our organisation we focus our attention on encouraging men, however, of course would include women where they are interested)

Duration: Full day

Costs: £20-£25 per delegate, please contact us to discuss further.

Speeches/Panels/Conference Workshops

We want to spread the message of White Ribbon Scotland as far and wide as possible and engage as many men as possible. As such, we are always happy to be at conferences, provide panel discussions and workshops. Please get in touch with us if you are organising a relevant event.

For all training and event enquiries please contact us by email.
