White Ribbon Scotland welcomes new VAW strategy

Last month saw the lauch of 'Equally Safe: Scotland's strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls', the Scottish Government strategy which details the framework for meeting VAW outcomes between 2014-2020.

White Ribbon Scotland welcomes the commitment to prevention and to specifically work towards the broad social change required to tackle gender inequality which underpins violence against women and girls. White Ribbon Scotland is pleased to be named in the strategy as a partner in engaging men a positive change agents in prevention of violence against women, and has endorsed the following statement of support, prepared and undersigned by national partner organisations working to prevent, provide for and protect victims of VAWG. You can read the joint statement here as a pdf; White Ribbon Scotland look forward to close partnership working with Scottish Government, CoSLA, the undersigned organisations and all other supportive agencies and organisations that will play a role in working towards the aspirational vision encapsulated in the title of the strategy.
