Welsh Assembly launch new tv campaign

The Welsh Assembly Government is currently running a TV and poster campaign in Wales that seeks to challenge attitudes that can lead to violence against women. It seeks to address the behaviours, often seen as 'harmless banter', that often leave a woman feeling intimidated and scared. Please see the campaign site to view the ad and for further information on how these behaviours fall on a continuum of harm.

The campaign has received international endorsement and acclaim, and seeks to get both men and women thinking about the consequences on society of accepting these behaviours as the norm, and leaving them unchallenged. As with the recent Rape Crisis Scotland tv campaign it is good to see an advert which looks at the impact of male attitudes from a women's perspective and will hopefully continue to generate discussion on gender equality and gender violence.
