International Women's Day - 8th March

Friday the 8th of March, marks International Women's Day, and across the world people will be celebrating women's achievements and the role of feminism.

The purpose of IWD is to celebrate what women have achieved and also recognise what work we need to do in order to create a world of social justice and a world in which women are considered equal to men.

We believe that the equality of women and the creation of a society free from violence against women is a human rights campaign and as such, must include men. We also firmly believe, that feminsim is inherently good for men and boys. We would like to encourage men to read about what International Women's Day is about and encourage them to attend events (whilst respecting women only spaces) on the 8th of March.

In Scotland, there will be debates, conferences, exhibitions and dancing - find out more here
